Alabama

We went to see Justin and my how he has grown.
I would say at least 2 inches.
It was wonderful to get to see him and watch him play soccer.
College Soccer is so different than high school or club soccer. I was very thankful that he didn't get hurt.
This past weekend was DNOW at our church. We feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful church and the great things that happen there.
It is such a blessing to watch the teenagers who are not ashamed to stand up for what they believe in and want to make this world a better place.
It's another rainy week here so not much exciting will take place I'm sure.

Football Season

Football season has arrived and we are so excited. First we were so excited because for the first time Ben would be taking the field at Tiger stadium not on Friday nights yet but on Thursday's for the junior high then the ankle went crack during football practice and now he is out for 3 weeks. Not happy at all. He was very bummed.

Cassidy did take the field for dance and had a great time. Her dance team performed at half time and did a wonderful job. Here are some pictures of their first pep rally.

Justin's soccer picture on the school website.

First day of school and lost teeth

Ben first day of school

Cassidy first day of school

Brenley first day of school

Well I will tell you right now. Leaving Justin in Alabama was the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life. Now the next thing I will say is that we are so happy and proud of him and we know he is in the right place for the right reasons. God definitely has a plan for him and I can't wait to see what that is.

His first week was tough practice 3 times a day for a week and then the next week was orientation and he started classes on Monday.

Brenley has been in school for 3 weeks and loves 2nd grade. She lost her top tooth and just looks adorable.

Ben and Cassidy started 8th grade on Wednesday and so far so good. Ben would rather not be there but Cassidy is happy about it.

Grandma is adjusting without Justin but is missing his shoes in the floor.

Tony and I are adjusting it's been tough but thank goodness for texting.

Here are some of the pictures of the last few weeks.

Let Me Hold on a Little Longer

Prom was a wonderful and fun night for Justin. He and Cortney had a great time and the dinner was a huge success. I think the parents had just as much fun as the kids serving dinner and seeing how blessed we are with our kids.

We had our soccer banquet on the 11th and even though the season was not great we had a great time looking back at 4 years of memories.

The Scholarship banquet was last week also and Justin's class received 8.5 million dollars in scholarships. That is just amazing.

The banquet that I was really looking forward too and dreading the most was the church banquet. We had the banquet at Studio 412 and Hutch and Maegan and Janet and Jessica did an amazing job as always.

We had dinner was yummy. Watched a video of all the kids and then the parents got up to speak about their child. I will just tell you I cried for 3 1/2 hours. The title of this book is part of what I read to Justin and Tony talked to him. I will be very honest we didn't make it through without crying at all.

This weekend is graduation and I can't believe it is already here. I know there will be more tears on Saturday , but we are so proud of everything he has accomplished and the choices he has made in his life.

Justin's signing

March 31,2009

Justin fulfilled a dream and signed a letter of intent to play college ball at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama.

If you say it really fast it is not that far from home.

It is going to be a very busy around our house for the next month or so.

We went last weekend and got Justin's Tux for the prom. It is April 25.

Cassidy has tryouts for dance on that day also.

Ben's baseball season kicks off Saturday night and he is so excited.

We have to start stuffing graduation announcements this weekend and get his pictures ordered.

I hope everyone as a blessed Easter.

Sweet Home Alabama

Well the kids and I survived our trip to Alabama. We had a great time and I really liked the campus. Everyone there was so nice and friendly true southern hospitality.

Justin did part of the drive going down and did a great job. He drove through Little Rock and Memphis and liked it.

It was nice having some help since Tony didn't get to tag along with us.

We spent Sunday,Monday and Tuesday in Montgomery and then drove to Gulf Shores.

We had a great time at the beach except it was covered in Jellyfish but we survived them.

The last time we were in Gulf Shores we found LuLu's which is Jimmy Buffett's sisters restaurant. The food is yummy and the atmosphere makes it wonderful.

We started back Thursday in the rain and it took forever. We made it to Ozark when another storm hit and Brenley started throwing up in the backseat. that was loads of fun.

We finally made it home around 9 that night safe and sound.

here are a few pictures from our trip.

Snow

The snow is falling here like crazy.
Just earlier this week the kids were looking for shorts to wear to school.
Get ready for a crazy week of updates.
The girls have their first dance competition this weekend. Justin has a soccer tournament here in town and Ben has baseball tryouts.
Enjoy the snow and let's hope it doesn't stick on the roads.

What Happens in Vegas well you know.

Tony and I had a wonderful time in Vegas.

It was great to get away and not worry about everything.

We started the weekend off by heading to OKC to watch Justin play soccer.

Our plane left bright and early Sunday morning but we landed in Vegas about 10:30 Vegas time.

We unloaded everything and headed to grab a bite to eat the excitement started there.

We crashed about 2:30 and didn't wake up until 9 that night.

My favorite part of the trip was the Eiffel Tower. It was beautiful and a bit chilly but we had a blast.

Random Stuff

Well the ice has melted away and storms are blowing in.

We have battled with the nasty stomach bug and strep and now Ben has the stomach crud.

Soccer season starts this week along with preparing for dance competition in March.

The girls work for 3 hours on their solo and duo. They are dancing to Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. Justin has soccer games in Springdale,Russellville and Oklahoma City.

Tony and I leave for Vegas on Sunday for a business trip for him. We are so excited to get away for a little while.

Here are a few random pics of the kids.

2 flights down and 1 to go!

Justin made to KC and Nashville without any trouble. He is pretty excited about his trip so not much is bothering him now. He is tired since we both were wide awake at 4 this morning.

I know he will be tired tonight when he gets there. I will admit it that I cried in the airport and in the car. It is pretty tough when you realize that your bird is getting ready to fly out of the nest. A friend of his asked him last night if he only had one memory past or present what would it be and he said when he got married or had his first child. It made me stop and realize what he has to look forward to in life and what a little part he has lived so far. I hope everyone is staying warm and surviving the storm.

Leavin on Jet Plane

Please pray for us as we travel to Tulsa to put Justin on a plane for a college visit to Alabama.
He is heading off tomorrow morning so I will post again when I return from dropping him off.
Please pray that he has a safe and uneventful trip without any delays and that if this is the college that God wants him to embrace that he will see that.
More to come. Stay warm.
